The Inaugural Outfit of the Day
Hello, again. I see you’ve found your way back in time for my second blog post. At the behest of my friend Vickey, who I’m sure will make innumerable appearances on this blog, my first substantive post will be an “Outfit of the Day” post, or an “OTD” as she dubbed it.
It's the beginning of Fall in New England, so Vickey posed me in a "nature-y" setting. Fall also means autumnal colors, chunky sweaters, a crisp coolness in the air, and the crunch of leaves under your feet. In New England especially, Fall is the time of year when campus seems to catch fire, with all the vibrant colors of the leaves that I'd never seen in the Midwest. This was the outfit I wore two days ago:
I'm wearing the Flea Market Flares from Madewell, which are fairly new to my wardrobe, but are quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I love the button-fly detail and super high waist on these jeans, they give my outfit such a retro-vintage feel. And I always feel so fun and Chloé whenever I wear flares -- they always put an extra kick in my step.
My shirt is a Kikkoman Soy Sauce logo short sleeve tee that I got from the Target men's section (I've been eyeing their Sriracha tee for a while, as well). I hate when collars hug my neck too snuggly (I think I might have been strangled in a past life) so I cut a little divot to give myself some breathing room.
My cardigan is Loft. I bought it on clearance a year or two ago, so I don't think it's available anymore.
Finally, my shoes are black leather booties with a low heel that I got at DSW a few years ago, I can't remember the brand. They're super comfortable and go with literally EVERYTHING.
All the pieces from my outfit are linked above (if they're still available)!
Hope you all have a great weekend (I'll be holed up in the bowels of the library working on my thesis...). See you in the next post!
